Prizes And Judging

More than 30 Awards will be given-including the Grand Prize Winner-Best of the 2007 National Film Challenge.

All eligible films will be reviewed by the National Film Challenge judges - an independent panel of film and video professionals. Films will be judged on both story and production values, as well as adherence to genre.

Out of all of the entries, fifteen "Best Films" will be named. Each of the Fifteen Best will be included in the "Best of the National Film Challenge" DVD. One of these Fifteen Best will be declared the Grand Prize Winner.

In addition, the top 15 films will be streamed and available for voting on the National Film Challenge website. The film that gets the highest rating by voters will be given the National Film Challenge Audience Award.

Both the Grand Prize Winner and the Audience Award Winner will screen at the 48 Hour Film Project end of year event (TBD.) In addition, the Grand Prize Winner receives $1,000 cash and the Audience Award Winner receives $500 cash . Other awards to be named:

  • Best Film in each Genre
  • Best Directing
  • Best Acting
  • Best Editing
  • Best Cinematography
  • Best Script
  • Best Use of Prop, Character and Line of Dialogue Awards

To be eligible for judging, awards and prizes, the film must have been created within the competition period (7 p.m. October 19 through October 22, 2007), and must adhere to all of the National Film Challenge rules.
