The International Documentary Challenge is a timed filmmaking competition where filmmaking teams from around the world have just 5 days to make a short documentary film. The 3rd annual took place March 6-10, 2008 with and the finalists premiered at Hot Docs in April 2008! The next Doc Challenge will be held March 5-9, 2009. More details about the event here.

A screening of the 2008 Doc Challenge films produced in the Portland area will take place on May 7, 2008 at The Hollywood Theatre. On July 10, 2008 a screening of the Seattle-area films will screen at the Northwest Film Forum. Please contact Doug Whyte with questions about booking more Doc Challenge screenings.
